Access to affordable and clean energy is essential to accelerating Africa’s economic development and enhancing the citizens’ living standards. This conference brings together private, public, non-government organizations and academicians to discuss how Africa can initiate and support the work needed to evolve universal energy access focusing on utilizing the synergy between the abundant undeveloped natural gas and renewable energy sources.

Renewable energy sources such as wind, hydropower and solar are well suited for energy needed for cooking, lighting, heating and communications in vast rural areas where the energy infrastructure is almost non-existence. In urban population centers, natural gas fired electric power generation in combination with larger scale applications of renewable energy could reliably supply industrial and urban energy requirements.

The conference also provides a venue for collaboration and dialogue to foster and inspire local and international entrepreneurs to initiate and expand investment in and the use of renewable energy and natural gas in the context of prevailing business conditions.
